MNEMIC NEW ALBUM BLOG EXCERPTS
Denmark’s modern metallers MNEMIC have updated their studio diary with the following posts: GUITARS September 30th “After a week of recording drums at the Antfarm studios, we moved back into our own studio. This week we are starting to record the guitars. For this process, we have tried out some heads and some different cabs. Apparently it was all in the cabs. We are using three different cabs - and one of them is the first Marshall cabinet I bought when I was 17 years old. We even tried Line 6 cabs, but they have this canned sound (yes, they sound like shit). Compared to the Marshall cabs, they didn’t stand a chance. Randall cabinets sounded pretty good too, but in the end we ended up using one Randall cabinet and two different Marshall cabs. “Last year I had the opportunity to buy a 5150 Tubescreamer and I have never been more happy about an amp or sound. Guess what? We are also recording with it. Why not try to record with something that you actually can replicate live? As far as recording the amount of guitars, we are trying different combinations, all-in-all to make it sound more dynamic. This means instead of recording with the same amp for an entire song, we are combining three different heads for different parts in each song. “The majority of the rhythm guitars are recorded by Rune [Stigart], who is doing a great job. First day, he nailed three songs and now it’s my turn to try and fuck things up. We'll keep you updated.” BASS October 5th “Two years ago we actually got really tired of spending hours and hours in the rehearsal [studio] and made the smart move of investing in studio equipment for everyone in the band, and voila, everyone in the band works with ProTools. We are probably the last band on earth to have done this, but in the end, it makes the whole process easier, as we can work whenever and wherever we want. “So happy we are all done with guitars for 15 songs. It’s been really heavy, heavy - as in sitting hours and hours recording to perfection, listening and being focused. Moving on to the bass parts, today we setup some of the new gear we got in from our friends at T.C. Electronic. We are trying to go different ways, as we’ve always recorded with Ampeg but now it’s time to try something else. “We setup both the Ampeg stack along side T.C.’s RebelHead 450 bass amp for comparison, and came quickly to the conclusion that the RH450 had a much more raw but clear sound than the Ampeg. As all digital processor units are trying to emulate warm, tube-based amps and analog units in general, we must say the DSP took us by surprise in the RH450: it even has a build-in chromatic tuner - the knobs on the interface are the basic tone-controls that every amp has, but the cool thing about it is that they are also semi-parametric, in which its possible to change where the tone-controls grab your bass sound. Without kissing too much ass to our beloved sponsors, we are actually and honestly quite impressed by this piece of wonderful hardware that we are using for the Sons of The System. “We have begun tracking the first song called ‘Climbing Towards Stars.’ Not much to say about it other than it’s mid-tempo, heavy, and all in F# more or less.. so yes, it’s heavy. Should Tomas [Cowan Koefoed, aka O’Beast] nail 15 songs in 2-3 days, he will definitely come out as a hero.”

MNEMIC have entered the studio to being recording their 4th studio album, entitled €œSons Of The System€ for a January 2010 release via Nuclear Blast Records. The band states:
€œAfter a minor 2 year break from touring, we have returned to the studio, to record 15 brand new tracks. Our batteries are re-charged and we are extremely excited to let you all hear the new stuff. The material it self is a mixture of grind, rock, polyrhytmics, electronics and represents the sound of a more mature Mnemic, at least in our humble opinion. Compared to the last album, the recordings will be kept completely on Danish soil. This time we are more within our own comfort zone, and will be working with the same dude that made us 2 great sounding albums in the past, which is none other than Tue Madsen, who is a really good friend and a great producer. The drums will be tracked at the Antfarm Studio, while guitars, bass and vocals will be immortalized at the bands own studio, under Tue€™s supervision. At the end of the recording process, electronics, mix and mastering will then again be handled at the Antfarm Studios. During the recording process we will try to keep you all updated on the progress.€

GENITORTURERS TO RELEASE BLACKHEART REVOLUTION NOVEMBER 3
October 5, 2009 €“ Renowned for their status as agents provocateur of the underground hard rock and industrial metal scenes, the latex defining and pop-culture defying Genitorturers return with the Nov. 3 release of Blackheart Revolution [G-Force/MVD Entertainment].
The outfit€™s fifth studio release, Blackheart Revolution is a mesmerizing blend of infectious riffs and riotous overtures that lay the sexually-charged foundation for frontwoman Gen, the master of turbo-charged ceremonies and erotic rituals. The Genitorturers live spectacle returns to the road October 24, with the first leg of dates running through November (itinerary below).
€œWe wanted to make a big rock record that translates the same excitement I felt when I heard AC/DC€™s Highway to Hell for the first time, combined with the dark intrigue of Alice Cooper€™s Welcome to My Nightmare,€ says Gen of the new release. €œWe wanted something that shakes the walls, grabs you by the balls, and scares you a bit in the process!€
Mission accomplished, as Blackheart Revolution combines the band€™s signature, genre-bending style of aggressive rock, seductive metal and underground electric pop. Co-Produced by David €œEvil D€ Vincent [Morbid Angel] and Scott Humphrey [Motley Crue, Rob Zombie, Ozzy Osbourne], the album is a roller coaster ride of musical twists, sonic turns and reckless abandon.
A product of Orlando, Florida€™s musical underbelly, what Genitorturers lack in wholesome family fun, they make up for in their celebration of the unspeakable, embracing and exploring our conservative culture€™s taboos. They caught the ear (and eye) of legendary music industry magnate Miles Copeland, who signed the band to their first deal on his I.R.S. label, where they joined the ranks of fellow Copeland signings Gary Numan, The Go-Gos and R.E.M.
The lead single from Blackheart Revolution, €œCum Junkie,€ is currently available via digital release, as well as in limited-edition, 7-inch vinyl. The collectible physical release will be the first in a series of vinyl singles to be released from the album, each complete with expansive packaging and uncensored artistic detail.
From their beginnings as upstart mavericks, to their current status as veteran iconoclasts, the only boundaries the Genitorturers know are the boundaries that they shatter.

wrestling & stuff
ok....so I know this is more wrestling related than Metal related, but I have to blog. I have been sick in bed for a few days and I think ow would be a great time to post something about 3PW and when I was the owner. I was speaking with an old friend of mine the other day who had said that fans were still showing up after I was gone in hopes that I would resurface there. That was really nice to know. The truth is, I was starting to get slightly disenchanted by the way certain wrestlers were acting up. The one that stood out the most was one who I flew in every month from Los Angeles on United airlines (as he requested since his miles were there) and paid $500 to. He continuously bitched about the flight not getting in at 12 noon (it got in at 1110am)..I urged him to change it or just go stand by. The ticket always cost me $350 r/t. The ungratefulness of him and a few others is what turned me off the most & I just wanted to walk away. Well, a few years have gone by & opportunity has knocked on my door & 3PW will be resurrected..just with a different name. I will be running a big wrestling show next year sometime & I promise that it will be better than ever. I miss some of the people that worked for me & appreciate how alot of them were loyal when I left the company & had acknowledged that I was the brain & the person running everything with 3PW. As soon as I was gone, stuff went downhill. I am sorry for anyone that was let down from all of that. In any case, I am back to sleep again. More stuff to come!!!
