Denver, Colorado extreme metal troop ENEMY REIGN refuse to adhere to the restrictions of a closed-minded genre. Drawing influence from early '90s death metal, late '80s grindcore, East Coast hardcore, and Bay Area thrash, friends and fans have coined the term "metal for metalheads."

ENEMY REIGN features former Skinless vocalist Sherwood Webber alongside drummer Andon Guenther (Deadspeak; creative director, programmer, and co-creator of Sick Drummer Magazine), guitarist Nick Guenther (Becoming The Enemy, Masakado) and bassist Cassie Begay (Throat Culture/Throcult, Deadspeak). The band's recently released self-financed EP, Means To A Dead End -- recorded by Dave Otero at Flatline Audio (Cephalic Carnage, Martriden, Cobalt et al) -- has reaped considerable praise from the media in a relatively short span of time.

Decibel called it, "death metal, the kind with big muscles and bigger t-shirts with offensive phrases in huge letters on the back;" Metal Hammer compared it to, "being repeatedly punched in the face by a ramrod. Invasive riffs and unrelenting vocals are in essence the real pull-factors to this awesome whirlwind of a mini-album that is bound to get your blood pumping and your horns in the air." And Terrorizer added: "An admissibly ferocious, hate-filled and avenging band who have confidently taken control of their own fate... STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN �€“ Swedish Progressive Metal act, Katatonia, is set to release their latest album, Night is the New Day, on November 10th via Peaceville Records. The highly anticipated album, from one of Europe�€™s premier Progressive bands, Night is the New Day is the follow up to Katatonia�€™s groundbreaking 2006 release, The Great Cold Distance. It is their eighth studio album to date.

The band is currently finishing up mixing the new record in their hometown of Stockholm. Although Night is the New Day is Katatonia�€™s eighth album, they still continue to challenge themselves musically, always looking for ways to take their distinct, melancholy sound a step further.

�€œI realize that I�€™ve never sung this MUCH on an album before,�€� explains vocalist Jonas Renkse. �€œNot that I�€™m singing ALL THE TIME (don�€™t worry), but the vocals are much more demanding.�€� He admits, �€œMy voice was already tired from the studio session, and even more tired from the gigs and I was really worried, but behind the microphone everything fell into place for that one last session.�€�

The band anticipates the album to be completed the first week of September, and plan to launch a mini-site (www.nightisthenewday.com) soon after with a complete track list, audio samples, and more.

The artwork for Night is the New Day was done by Travis Smith, whom also produced the art for The Great Cold Distance, as well as numerous other Katatonia albums. Following the completion of the album, Katatonia will head out on a European tour with the likes of Porcupine Tree and Paradise Lost.

It turns out that one of the greatest composers/keyboardist in metal was fired last Saturday form Dimmu Borgir for numerous requests over the years to see accounting statements from the past 11 years of his work. He was made several requests to be registered as a writer (which we all know he was) for songs he did so he could get paid accordingly....more to follow...

On September 14th Lamb of God will commence the fall Wrath tour in the United States and Canada, combining 25 support shows with Metallica, with 25 headline shows with special guests Gwar and Job For A Cowboy. The tour will end at Madison Square Garden on November 15th. This will be Lamb of God's third tour with Metallica after a 3 week run last December in the US and a 7 week tour throughout Europe this summer.



Wrath debuted at number 2 on the Billboard chart and is on target to be the bands biggest worldwide selling record. The cd debuted at number 1 in Canada and Canadian fans will get multiple opportunities to see the band on the fall tour.
